Audrey's not pleased when Tom and Maxine open up shop above the salon with their new hairdressing venture 'A Cut Above'. She offers them both their jobs back which they accept, waffles on about equal partnerships in the business and then promptly sends Maxine to put the kettle on for a cuppa.
Leanne and Nick have been in turmoil this week over her pregnancy, with Nick furious when he found out about the missing £200 from their joint bank account. There's been tears and histrionics all week (and Leanne hasn't been much better!) when Nick tries to persuade Leanne to have an abortion, telling her it'll be a hard decision but the right one. He confides in Miranda at college who suggests Leanne has the abortion and then he lies to Leanne, telling her he hasn't told anyone. He also asks Martin for advice about an abortion and offers to pay for Leanne to have the op done privately to speed things up. And what would Gail think of her lovely son if only she knew?!

Tracy sends her parents flowers as a thank you for putting up with her last week, and it's not long before Ken and Deirdre are back sub-duvet again when Ken asks her to move back in with him. What *would* Blanche say?! The girls in the factory gossip about Deirdre and Ken and when Mike finds out they're back together again, he has a bit of a mean chuckle, in that way he does so well.

Roy and Hayley meet Jessica, a new vicar at Emily's church, who agrees to marry them on the 21st April (which Roy is quick to point out is the Queen's birthday) at 2pm. Toyah's chuffed to be asked to be bridesmaid. Roy wants a small do, about 10 guests but Hayley wants all her friends there, even if it means asking Les Battersby to accompany Janice. However, Janice tells them both they don't have to ask Les, so that's a relief all round.

Gary takes up window cleaning in the street and Charlie West gives him Jack's old cart, Bertha. Jack has a word with Gary about the perks of the job, telling him he had so much crumpet when he was cleaning windows, "If I'd have had any more, I'd have had to tek a lad on!" but Gary tells him he's not interested and only doing the job to make money for Judy and the (have you noticed how huge they are these days?) twins.
Ashley and Curly find out that Tyrone is sleeping rough in the bins at the back of Freshco and although they take pity on him, Curly and Deirdre are wary that it means Jackie Dobbs might be making a return (a nation worries too!). However, it looks like Tyrone has ran away from home and Deirdre gives him a fiver to get himself some food.

Julia Stone turns up at the factory and gives Mike the glad-eye (I just love that expression...), and invites him to share her hotel room for the rag trade ball on Friday night. The old slapper (Mike, of course) smirks and you just know he's not worthy of Alma, and never has been.

And that's about it for this week.

Glenda ;-)
